rope ingestion

Today i sucked up a rope which stalled my 95 bombadier spi. it will continue to take more rope if i try to start. i towed it in. Is repair as simple as removing cover and cutting rope into small pieces to remove? should i expect any other damage? thanx gl

The first thing is to get it all out.. I use a razor knife to cut it off the shaft in pieces to pull it out.. Make sure you have it all off before trying to start... Look up inside the impelle to see if it's stuck in there too..

roneagan, thanx for your help. i only had to make one cut and i was able to unwrap the rope from the shaft. still have to test in water. thanx again, gl
