Hey guys,

Novice boater here. Took my 2001 seadoo for a spin in the raritan bay, and while tubing the rope got caught up in the impeller. Drove at 2500 rpm back to the dock and managed to get the rope out from under the weedless system. But now the right engine idles @ 2000 rpm instead of 1000. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Also where the rope got stuck, there is this blue protective thing around the shaft, which got busted. Do i need to get it fixed? or can i leave be?

Thanks in advance

Tejas

The blue protective cover is supposed to help with ropes being eaten. You just discovered how well that works!! You don't need that part.

Most cut the blue protective cover off once it is damged. Can't help with the increased idle issue..

Increased idle, possible vibration damaged the pto bearing and seal and is now causing a lean condition on that cylinder.

Check your plugs, might have one leaner than the rest.
