Riva Motorsports, who has experience with them

Well, I'm a little unhappy to say the least. Here I am, supporting a parts site in a few people's signatures, and I order a brush KIT for my starter, and it has 1 brush in it. Never before have I ever had a kit that only comes with half the parts. How is Riva at taking back their parts? If I had known I would be paying $22 for 1 brush, and god knows how much for the other, I'd have just gotten a new starter and I would probably have been on the water already. Of course, now I'm going to get screwed on the 20% restock fee, plus shipping back to them, so now even with a return I'll be out $20 or more. What should I do?

take the brush AND starter with you, to nearest starter/alternator repair shop, let them take gander..?

The nearest place that would do anything is 45 minutes away, but I suppose it's worth a shot. Probably what I should have done anyways. Guess I'll give that a try, but chances of me going through Riva again are very slim right now.

yeah,..dont blame ya...you re-check the "parts" tab/page, see if tit mentions to order 2, or just bad wording/phrasing.

:rofl:, do urself the favor, call the shop before a roadtrip..hate to hear you blow up "RIVA" again, if shop cant fix it...

I did recheck the parts page, but problem is they have their writing over the picture of what's included in the "kit". I guess I just assumed what probably most people would assume, KIT means it has what you need. Guess I'll be calling around today.

Well, that's it, I'm buying a new starter off Ebay. I'm kicking myself for having wasted money at Riva, the "customer service" rep told me I had to order 2 kits, to which I responded by asking why I'd need 2 positive side brushes, and then things went downhill from there. I really hope I'm the only person who's ever had problems with them, but if I'm not it wouldn't surprise me. Local shops don't sell parts, and I'm not paying $75 to have a $50 starter rebuilt.:rant:
