Every once in a while, when I leave the no-wake zone, I'll hit the gas (say 1/2 throttle-ish) and the revs will go to like 4000-4200 rpm, and pause, regardless of how hard the throttle is depressed. If I lower the pressure, then get on the throttle again, it'll be fine.

Ideas? It's got about 50 hours on the rebuilt motor, and only about 3 this season on the new plugs.

cant hurt, only helps the motor to breathe out the spent gases. Need to clean them every, depending on what type oil your using, between 20-50hrs of use. I cleaned mine one time, only for them to clog up, about 5hrs after use, guess i missed some carbon in its housing area.

Ok, that's what I figured. Thanks. And I only run the XPS oil.

I feel like an idiot, but don't see a sticky or anything on it - how do you clean the raves?

Brake Cleaner

Use any kind of brake cleaner, a scotchbrite and wirebrush. I have the luxury of working in a machine shop with all types of cleaning equipment and polishing equip.
