Since I got my 93 XP I've done some upgrades and at the same time brought this ski back to life. I want to hear about rebuilds of old or dead skis and custom modifications.

What I've done:

1) Replace thread sockets with stainless bolt studs.
2) Add a flow sensor to the oil line to alert me if I loose oil feed.
3) Change out the temp alert sensor for a probe and gauge.
4) Recover the seat myself and make a strap.
5) Used the heat method to restore my bump guards.
6) Added a low flow electric pump as a means to restore cooling should I have a clog.
7) Replace start button with a key switch.

What I'd like to do:

1) PAINT!!!
2) Replace VTS rotary actuator with a linear actuator to solve the constant BS problems.
3) Stereo system
4) Make and install a reverse bucket and actuator.
5) Reprogram an old GPS enabled PDA to accept inputs from my temp probe, tach, and oil flow sensor. It would also give me speed readings, NAV, and with the addition of a fast action relay, monitor and control engine acceleration.

Lets hear it!

Wouldn't call it a real system but it would be a set of 1.3" tweeters in the panel and stern and a 10" shallow sub in the empty bow space. All light weight marine grade stuff. All of the extras will probably be powered separately from the engine and its systems. Li-Ion cells are light weight and sealed.

Its mostly "want to do" and will probably end up being a compact head unit and 2 6" 2-ways for use when I'm beached or diving.

The PDA thing I will do pretty much just for the fun of it. Nothing expensive at all, just time consuming.

I have stereo system plans for my 92GTS after painjob. Can't rock a sound sys in a jet ski and have it look like crap. My idea was to get one of those little 2 channel amps and have an aux out to an ipod. You're not gonna want to switch out cd's as your'e cruising. plan is to weld up an aluminum waterproof box to house the amp. Going to put cooling fins on the box so as not to fry the amp. The GTS with the tiny 580 has plenty of room for it all. Want to find some sort of remote waterproof ipod controller, but that may be expensive. IPOD might just have to be exposed or in a waterproof-ish sac on the side of the ski... these are going to be next year's updates I think, but I def. want to do it. It already got the trolling motor addition this year, and some side rod holders :D Fishing's been good
