I just replaced the wear ring on my 96 SPX. I must give props to this site, as it went according to the plan, using a combination of tips garnered here.
I have searched and haven't really found an answer to this, so here goes. I have everything back together and tightened the jet pump back up similar to how you would put on a wheel, working my way across and around torquing the bolts. Now that everything is all back together, when looking in from the rear, it appears that the wear ring is slightly out of round. By that, I mean when looking straight in, there are gaps between the wear ring and impeller across one axis and little or no gaps across the other axis, if that makes sense. The wear ring I put back in is OEM.
Should this be a concern? I didn't want to run it without getting some opinions first.
Thanks in advance.
