removing traction mats on 01 XP???

i was wondering how to remove the traction mats on my 2001 xp it looks like it has rivets in the mats. i want to hydroturf on thats why im removing them any help?

pop out the little black caps and drill the rivet heads off dont drill the ski hole any bigger i patched the holes with silicone and put new hydroturf on i just replaced mine took about two hours

After removeing the rivets, Apply Dry Ice broken into bits/pieces onto the mat and allow to set 10-15 minutes. Then light raps with a hammer.
The glued mats will spaw apart. Wear eye protection.

drill the rivits. then fill them with epoxy puddy. or some sort of other filler.

Instead of drilling rivets, use a sharp chisel and slide under mat and just tap with a hammer. You can get all the mats off in about 5 minutes.
