Ok so I am a complete noob when it comes to these boats. I am about to travel out to Kentucky next weekend to pick up my very first 1997 Challenger 1800. It has some seat damage on it from when someone vandilized it which I am not to worried about. But my main question is would you recommend taking the oil injection out and pre mixing or just keep it in? The guy that I am buying it from said he replaced both motors last summer. I have always been used to pre mixing my own because my current bass boat uses it.

Now the second question. I have called every single aftermarket seadoo dealer that sell OEM parts to try and find the Sun Deck Pad. No one has them, they said they do not carry them anymore. Again like I said it got vandilized and he threw it away. How do I go about getting another one and or getting an upholster to make me one? Is there a pattern they can use? The part # to the pad is 204610011. It apparently comes with 3 pieces. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I cant really help you much with the premix question, but I was wondering if you have considered hydro turf for the deck pad? I dont know it the premade kit will have it, but if not, you can buy a sheet of it really cheap. Might want to check it out. What part of KY are you coming to?

Yea I know what the hydro turf stuff is and I was looking at the kit today actually. But what I am talking about it the actual cushion that covers the engines. Its like a big cushion you can lay on and catch the rays if your just floatin around. And I will be traveling to Franklin, KY. Its about a 9-10hr trip one way for me.

I bet a auto or marine upholstery shop could easily make you a new cushion. Franklin is quite a ways from me. They are pretty much in TN. Good Luck with the long journey. I know how it is, our boat was 9.5 hours away in PA.

How about we turn this around and I go to PA for my boat and you go to KY?......lol

Too late, but I wish I could have found one closer. There aren't many jet boats in this area. I have only seen a few in KY.

There is a ton in the tri-state area just not this good of a deal. It does need quite a bit of it re-upoholstered but other then that he replaced both motors last year and its in pretty good condition. I just didnt know if I should keep the oil injection or just pre-mix it. I just have heard horror stories about the oil injection failing and causing a ton of money in engine repair because of it.

I have heard the stories also and went with pre mix on the new motor. I think i will test my pump and put it back on if ok. I am using way more in oil now and smokes some in the no wake zones. Not to mention if i need gas I have to go back to the trailer and get oil and can. Not able to just hit the marina anymore.
