Rekindling lost youth...

Okay gurus - what's your take? Should I be concerned about that gap. It seems like it's not pressed together all the way or something. Won't that excessive play cause me troubles? Also what about the former rod injury to the reed area? It seems minor, but wonder if it shouldn't have been ground down a bit? I'm not too concerned about the missing grease on the other cylinder. I can get at it and add something in there easily enough...

One last thing. I could probably fabricate some block off plates to pressure test these. I believe it is supposed to have been done, but if it's not too bad, maybe I could try it? Could I use the pop off tester? Is there a procedure on here? I think I read something like 8 lbs needs to hold for 15 minutes on another PWC forum, but I don't belong there - just came up on a google search.
