I have 93 Seadoo SP and have a problem with the lanyard falling off the safety button. Has anyone replaced their oem 'push button safety switch' with a later model 'lift up switch'? And if so what year and model would be compatible.

What have other people done with the push button switch to keep the lanyard attached during riding? thanks for any help.

is the part on the hull bad or is it the worn out lanyard? If it is the Lanayard a new one can be had pretty cheap !!!

The lanyard is new, but from third party vendor. The switch is original to the ski so it may be worn down, but hard to tell. I'll get an oem lanyard and try that first and then replace the switch if needed.

Seadoo never used a "Lift up" type of switch. They went from a standard push button, to the Magnetic style for the MPEM security system.

If your lanyard is popping off... either your aftermarket lanyard sux, or you need a new cap on the switch. The little post is the nut that holds the switch into the hull. You can buy a new one for a few $$$.
