Got genuine mikuni rebuild kit. And redid the carbs. It's idles ok but any gas and it bogs down and wants to die and backfires.

I put a direct like from a good gas source to bypass all the fuel selector and fuel filter.same thing

What's the next step I should take as 2 sets of carbs 2 different rebuild kits didn't fix the problem

After putting all this time to remodel this thing and paint it I really want to get it running right lol

Don't worry, Ist, did you secure the pulse line to the carb?
Did you check the clear plastic diaphrams on the fuel pump side for hairline cracks?
Did you check that the tiny return orifice was clear?
I assume the 2 micro filters are clean.
Are springs oroperly installed?
I also like to take the out line from the fuel pickup and gently blow into it, some times rarely, debris can accumulate on the mesh screen at the bottom.
I assume you fo not have the gray fuel lines,
Just retrace your steps, its easy to overlook something when you have not serviced carbs this 100 times.

No gray lines.pulse line is tight.. all hoses are tight.i blew into the return line and thru all the holes on the carb.. Pulled carbs apart yesterday again. Everything look fine no cracks or tears of any sort. Did pop off. All good. So u think it's the carbs still?
Did you install new needles and seats?
Did you use the springs from the kit?

Yes used old springs

Check the compression?
Did it ever run?
Could be voltage regulator with the backfires?

Ran last year had a issue after playing on it all day when I went to take it to the dock sputtering.

Engine compression is good as it gets both 150. Not even in the 140s

I was thinking the coil too not enough spark or weak spark....

I disconnected the Rev limiter no difference.is that the voltage regulator u talking aboit?

Rebuilt the carbs again today with a whole new carb kit. Another 130 bucks down the drain same issue.

Bogs on the trailer.

Genuine mikuni again just for shit and goggles thinking I did somthing wrong. Pop off was 33 and 30 for the carbs I could not get them closer

Pressure testing will check the crank seals, rotary seal, head and base gaskets and intake o-rings.

I over tightened one of the 4 bolts that holds on the intake rotary valve thing the last time I redid carbs and stripped it out. I need to run next size tap through that and put another bolt. I sprayed carb cleaner there tho and I didn't get a reaction which I should have if the leak was there right?

You won't always get a reaction with sprays.

I wouldn't put a larger bolt, the correct repair would be a Heli-coil but on some of those engines they hole goes all the way into the crank so be careful or it will air leak there.

Ok thanks.do u know in my 1992 gtx holes go all the way into the crank? White 587

Pressure tested the engine today. As soon as I put 7 psi into the engine I heard air leaking. Turns out one of the small oil lines had a Crack in it. Cut it shorter and Re attached it. Held 7 psi for 35 min lost 1 to 2 psi over the 35 mins . So all seals are good. Hopefully it's fixed.

Would this cause the problem seadoo people. Would create air where it's not necessary so I hope it's fixed. I used high heat rtv for waist gasket so have to wait and test tomorrow morning

The small oil lines that come off the pump?

If so you should pull those off and replace them. If it cracked, it’s just going to do it again. 3/32 Tygon line fits perfectly
