Okay Pro Seadoo mechanics, got a question for you all. My boat when taken out has high revving and a loud noise coming from under the hatch and doesnt move. it idles and once given throttle it starts to rev high and shortly after (few seconds) a loud rubbing noise is given off. Could this be a problem with my jet pump? and if so how hard is it to install the rebuild kit? Is there a website that i could maybe learn how to? Thanks for the help!

It's not hard to rebuild the pump. If you have a small press, it will make life easier. You will need the manual, as there are a few things to watch for.

1) The bearings have to be in the right way.
2) They get pressed to a specific depth. (not the entire way down)

With that said... if you have a grinding/rubbing sound... You may want to pull the pump, and check it out before doing the rebuild. The sound may be coming from somewhere else. (do not start the engine with the pump out, and the drive shaft still in the engine)

Cavitation ?

Are you sure there isnt a small object wedged between the impeller blades ? Look with a flashlight from both ends. I once had a 1 inch stick wedged almost out of sight, caused those symptoms

Thanks for the replies. Is there a possibility that it could be my neutral safety switch? Also my boat doesnt beep when i put the lanyard on, however it does crank.
