Rave valves

I just recently replaced two rave valves on the 787 motor and was wondering if the new valves I got which had slots in them would be okay or cause any performance issues because the originals did not have the slots. Could this have any negative effect?

doo a search on them, think DAWG (could be mistaken) had mentioned they're new style, but not affect anyhting...
