I have a 2004 gti le with a new motor last year. 1st time out it would bog down. When wide open it would have random misses. Should I replace the fuel filter or use a gas additive? Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

New motor...but what about the carb? Has it been rebuilt? 16 years old, probably needs a rebuild at this time. The fuel filter is in the carb, if you were referring to the fuel/water separator filter (in the nose)...sure you can replace that and the O-ring gasket as well.

Random misses could be a fuel delivery problem.....these skis are all about good batteries and good fuel delivery

Carb was rebuilt also and new electric board. I did have an issue with the battery dying . The next day it was fully charged and that is when it was just a random miss

Was the Carb rebuilt with GENUINE Mikuni parts? We hear of carb rebuilds with aftermarket kits and the ensuing problems thereafter.....there is nothing better than OEM Mikuni parts for the carb rebuilds.

A new MPEM too? OEM or Aftermarket? AM have been known to sometimes be problematic as well...

Battery dying...could have been/ is a bad rectifier.....the rectifier sends DC current back to the battery to keep it charged up (a trickle charge so to speak).
