I am new to this forum and just purchased a 2002 Seadoo Challenger 1800 this year. I have had it out on the lake many times and realized that my wiring harness is bad on my radio. Instead of rewiring the radio, I am opting to upgrade it, since it will take the same amount of work.

Since I am new to boats, I was wondering if the "marine" radios are recommended for boats? I know a lot about car radios, but can not find a specification on the marine radios that show a difference. Are they more shock resistant or waterproof?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Both

The Boards inside are coated with a waterproofing laquer
plus they are more shock resistent and corrossion resisting connectors
do not fit a car radio or you will be spending July 4th weekend fitting a new one :rofl:

Yeah I would only buy MARINE rated stuff for any accessories. The price isnt much higher either.
