Hello All,
Last week at Powell one of my 1999 Seadoo GS's started hesitating at full throttle then would die down to idle speed. As long as you gave it half throttle it would run. I've read quite a few posts with similar problems so it sounds mostly like it's a gas problem with either a dirty carb/needles, maybe ?raves(i don't know what this is) or rectifier, or maybe a filter on the side of the carb? The jetski has been left for repair but I'd like to have some education base when the mechanic calls.

Also always heard that the fuel lines in the Seadoos are garbage so what should I replace them with? I'd need the diameter size to pick up and about how much. Are they hard to replace? Hate to cause a gas spill at the lake!

Thanks so much for any advice,
Scott

If you have the gray fuel lines... I would start with a fuel system cleaning. You will need about 25' of 1/4" black rubber automotive fuel line. Replace them one at a time so you don't get things crossed. Then, rebuild the carbs. You will probably find green goo in the carb filter.

You will probably find you problem goes away once it's clean.

i agree with dr,but at my shop i use the clear/blue urithane fuel line.you can get it from parts unlimited,as far as the carbs go you can get away with just a light cleaning.do not remove the high/low speed jets or you will find youself at the lake for a hour or so trying to reset them.just change the small filter in the carb, fuel lines, and the larger filter up front.and like the dr said change them one at a time, also would not hurt to clean or change the fuel valve.
