G'day Mason,
It's easier to take the jet pumps off, then you can rule out any impellor prob's, yes you do have wear rings and as Karl said normally you will get extra rev's if they are worn.(rubber ring around impellor, inside jet pump housing)
Thank god for SBT warranty, it sound as if something has let go in the engine if you can't turn it by hand with the plugs out and the pump off. It could be as simple as the bendix on the starter motor locking up too, so check for motor turning as you take the bits and pieces off to send it in.
Reading your post it sounds like the engine has only ran twice and both times it has stopped suddenly at WOT is this correct?
P.S. I have been running pre-mix in my boat for 12mths now no prob's, i don't think this would be your cause, as long as you made sure the rotory valve shaft housing was full of oil and there were no air bubles in the lines.

yea this is true it has only been ran twice and both times stopped around 3k rpm not wot. i can't figure out what could cause this since it should be getting oil. i will check when the engine is removed but when i was trying to turn it the plugs were out and the starter was off since we thought the starter went bad. i am bumfuzzled!!!!!!

what pump are you talking about and how do i check that. the engine is ready to pull just waiting on sbt to send me the confirmation number. i am going to check it when i have it out of the boat. thanks

sorry again but is this the oil pump assymbly?? where are the bearings located, are they at the pto flywheel side??? i think that is the only place i saw bearings. just need some clearification since i am very new to messing with motors and everything i know has been learned the hard way:ack:

do i have to remove flywheel to get to this??? i think i am just going to try and turn it when i have it removed and if it doesn't then i will just get another one.

Just to clarify, we are talking about the jet pumps on the back of the boat, if you remove it(4 nuts and a couple of cable's) you can get then check if the motor turns and make sure your impellor turns freely as well.

so i am having a hard time getting the flywheel off but can here metal rolling around behind it... could this be the bearings???? also i am tired of messing with this so if anyone wants to buy it for $4000 then you got it plus a sbt engine will be here in a few weeks i guess. this will be inlcued to. let me know if anyone wants it, the first $4000 gets it... also if you know what caused this problem that would also be great. thanks

throw'n in towel

what up, man. Get the motor, GO THRU THE CARBS, install it all, and have fun. Probably something little, that caused it...

it just seems like no matter what i can try it isn't fixing anything. still can't get the flywheel off, the puller i used before isn't doing the trick this time. and i am pretty sure the metal i hear has to be bearings.

also a mechanic said the blockoff kit i put on there is the cause of this????? i thought the oil gets to it by gravity and then you premix oil in the gas. did i miss something

Did you completely eliminate the oil lines or drain all the oil? The bottom end still needs oil for the bearings, thats the only reason the block off kit would cause anything as far as I know.

hooked all oil lines back up and the resevoir was full. no clue what is wrong and i don't want to put the new one in until i know.

going to the motor, if you have the block-off kit, is, the bottom oil line, that does not have the filter in it. going to motor, and the other oil line is, line going back to the resivor, to the top of tank...
