hi, i have a few questions i can't exactly find in a search.
i bought a used 97 challenger with 1 engine that run for about 15 mins and it bogged some then all it would do was idle so after searching here i learned to check the plugs, clean the rave valves. And i have no idea how old the gas is, could be years, they said it sat way more than they used it.
I pulled the plugs and they look like new plugs but they are are soot black.
The rave valve closest to the jet pump is out and was just a little sooty but not bad at all.
On the valve there is a small hole and a small hole in the head, should they be aligned up? there weren't.
And only one rave valve had a spring(the spring that has pressure on the big top black plastic cap) under that big plastic cap with the red center, shouldn't both valves have springs?
Is there an easier way to drain the gas than siphoning?
Thanks in advance and i am searching through the shop manual now.
