question about the msd enhancer

I havnt messed with my boat since last year but the last thing I had thought was that the cdi was bad in it. but then I pulled the stator cover and there were a few small slivers and one of the wires from the stator the plastic on it was hard from getting hot I think and it had a little bit of black on it so I cleaned the wires and connections and changed the trigger pickup, if it does infact end up being the cdi box which is 800.00 can I just buy the msd ignition and replace the dess cdi andmpem? thanks guys

As far as I know... yes, the MSD unit, will replace both the CDI and MPEM. But, if you put that in a boat... you will loose your security system, and your neutral safety.

I put my boat back together today and took it out and It ran like a dream, the trigger coil is what was causing the high speed mis, thanks so much guys, you all rock
