PWC Purchase Advice

I am new to the forum and fairly new to PWC. I am thinking of purchasing a PWC for family use; my wife, 15 yr/old and 12 yr/old sons as well as myself. Local dealer has 2009 GTI 130 SE, GTI 155 SE and GTX 155. I have narrowed it down to the two 155's. What advice can you give?

Well the new GTX will have the water braking technology and a few other nice features with it. What are the price differences that your dealer is telling you?

Go with the GTX, the GTI is a very base model ski, I think you will be happier in the long run with a GTX:cheers:

I am looking at 2009 models so the braking technology would not be available. The GTI is an SE model so essentially they have the same features and options with the exception of the hull design. The GTX is a moified-V, the GTI is a progressive-V. Supposedly the GTX has a smoother ride in rougher conditions. The GTX is $9,094 the GTI is $8,435.

I am also married and have a 5 year old girl. In March I bought a new 2008 GTI 130 and a new 2008 trailer for $6599 out the door. I have had it up to 54 mph and it has awesome power out the hole. This was also my first ski and i think i made a good choice not to start out to much. Dont get me wrong i love power and also own a 2007 Yamaha R1. I think more power would just be to much for my wife right now and will probably move up a model in a couple of years.

That's why they have a throttle, lol. j/k.

Machopirate, Buy as much as you can afford. These newer ski's have learning keys so you can limit speed to experience. Once they get used to it you can let the reigns go and won't be wishing for more power.

Sounds like the GTX 155 will be the way to go. I plan on making the purchase this weekend. You have a good point about the learning key Rotor13B. Thanks for everyones input.
