WHat are you guys doing with the hull when you part them out?

It it's a desirable hull put it on CL for $50.00, if not cut it up with a sawzall and put it on the curb., local requirements here are pieces no longer than 5'.

I crush them with a loader and put them in a dumpster. I can get 2 seadoos in one dumpster. [MENTION=41828]Minnetonka4me[/MENTION] has a cool video of what he does.

We actually just crushed a 96xp hull yesterday, I have a 97 spx hull stripped and am going to put it up for $20 on cl. If it goes a week without selling its going to the dumpster.

Is it legal to throw away in my trash if it cut it up being that it has a Title like a car would they think its stolen or something and My trash people are the worst, they wont even get out of the truck. And do you wear a mask?

if its got a clean title it'll prob sell. most get parted because of hull damage/ clouded paper trail anyway.

Tonka had some pretty nice looking hulls go in that crusher.
While I realize empty hulls are pretty much worthless, it was still kinda sad to watch

Not sure about your state, but in Wisconsin we can notify the DNR that the ski/sled/boat is being sold or demolished & they will remove the vin from your name. (if you have it registered)

In my town they won't pick up anything at the curb. Many years ago they did on fridays. Now everything has to be in the proper disposal container & garbage is supposed to be in plastic bags within that container & the lid closed. Everything is automated & nobody gets out of the truck.
How things have changed........ lol Nobody riding on the backs of garbage trucks anymore.

i did the sawzall thing once, never again....


PLan A. Leave a little "meat on the bone" and sell on CL for $50-60 with title, saves gas & time on Plan B.

Plan B. cost's $7-8 to take to the dump. $20 per ton.

I'd like to get a plan c, wich is finding a local "ebay guy" that I can take the one's that i've picked off most of the stuff but is willing to pick even further.
I generally pick off about 80% of all the sellable stuff, but if its hard, then fug it.. I don't pick them clean.

Yeah I got rid of the last one on craigslist last year for $50 But now i have 3 and even put them on craiglist for free (god the idiots on there it clearly Says empty/Stripped hull) WHats worng with your seadoo :facepalm:

I called the dump its $67 for a ton so i may go this route only have a 1 car garage at the moment and need some space asap.
Have a guy or 2 supposed to come today but will see.

How are you guys shipping the front bins, Hoods and Seats and Most important the fuel tank can I just slap a label on the tank and storage bin?

no you just can't slap a label lol

hoods, remove the mirrors, they fit ok in a box then.... overcharge for shipping
tanks, a paper towel box and a bunch of bubble wrap, but only some tanks are worth saving, most I throw away
front bins... I store crap in them in the attic, and then throw them away... not worth the trouble
I usually remove the fire extinguisher tubes, they sell

and yes the CL guys are stupid, and greedy as hell....
and at least locally here we have a group that work together to tag team you with low balls, they are kind of hilarious, and obvious. But i'll get 4-6 lowballs within an hour of each other then the next guy offers $50 more than all the lowballers, where were ALL the same price.

In MN there is a box you can check on the registration stating you've destroyed it. Then you give or mail that to the DMV or DNR. I would assume most states are the same way.

Yeah im not worried about the the state side, hell i never even titled them in my name. But i called the dump the don't give a shit about titles or anything. The bin would probably be fine with out a box maybe lol so would the tank but having gas in it at one time that's a diff story I guess unless i boxed it up they wouldnt know. hopefully one of these guy shows up today to pick up the 00 GTX hull then i have 96 gtx and a 97 GSX todo next

Yup it was a rxx, but it was beat to all hell. I actually parted 3, one was good enough to salvage. Some have to die to keep others alive.
