Yeah, I had to replace the pistons and rings. I went the oversized pistons and had the cylinders bored and honned. I replaced all of the gray fuel line, Cleaned out the fuel selector. Replaced the fuel filter in the main fuel line (It was clean as a whistle), Replaced inline oil filter, and the wear ring. This is my first go around with working on a PWC. I'm just trying to make sure that I have done all I can do on my limited budget to get this thing running. I bought it from my neighbor, it had been sitting for almost 10 months. He said he couldn't get it started. He replaced the coil, stator, and plug wires. When I got it I was able to get it to run for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes it died. Checked compression and it had nothing in the PTO side cylinder. When I broke it down that piston was fried. I still need to figure out why it fried out on me. So far everything looks fine. I just dont want it to happen again.
My other problem is I cant get the side of the carb off to clean out the diaphram. I couldn't figure out how to get the throttle cable off so I did what I could with them still on the bare motor. On the mag side carb I was able to get the body pump assymbly off and checked the little filter inside the carb. It was very clean as well. And I still need to figure out how to get the oil out of the bottom end and how to refill it.
Any help getting me on the water would be greatly appreciated.
