So ive gotten a new battery from walmart, got it fully charged put it in, Put my lanyard in still no beep., But when i try to start the engine Is so close to start. Maybe the battery isent charged enough ?

#1 beeper probably not working.
Theres a radio shack replacement but you have to cut the wires.

#2 take battery to autozone/discount and have it load tested. If its bad take it back to walmart.

What do so close to start. Does it turn over??

Thing is with my old battery if i charged it long enough, it would beep with the lanyard in but wasent powerful enough to start, now it doesnt beep but so close to start

I would be very suspicious of a Walmart battery. I bought a sealed gel pack battery last year at Auto Zone, it's worked great.

You guys told me to buy one from walmart.. :( I checked the voltage and its great. 12.73
Before when i charged my other battery over night, then put it on it would beep right away, but wont start, man idk anymore? been yelled at by members of this fourm that it was a dead battery got a new one and nothing.

I have a gtx ltd and the earth cable that bolts to the motor had a tiny bit of corrosion on it.With it cleaned up.Things came good.I am not saying this is your problem but it's a good one to eliminate

The no beeps is probably a separate issue. My beeper suddenly stopped working then worked again for a day now it doesn't any more.

You can't judge whether a battery is good by just checking the voltage, unless you put it under a load. Wal-Mart batteries are cheap and there have been a lot of cases of bad "new" batteries lately. Load test the battery and check all connections for corrosion, etc. Then report back.

I suggested wal mart because you acted like you didnt wanna buy a battery. So if that didnt fix it, take the battery back. Make sure to check all your battery cables. Make sure they are in good shape and not corroded. Really check the ground wire. If that all checks out, then it sounds like your starter would be the next thing i suspect.

I know a lot of people bash wal mart batteries, but my boat has 2 of them going on 4 years old and ive never had a problem out of either of them.

The regular Walmart batteries are fine, I've got one in my wife's car thats over 4 years old, one in my lawn tractor, 3 years. But I have not had much luck with their motorcycle batteries.

 +1 on the car batteries. I've got one that's just under 6 years in my car, and another just over 7 years in my truck (now that I said that, they will probably both go out at the same time). :ack: But also, not such good luck with motorcycle battery... less than 2 years. :(

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to sound like I was bashing Walmart batteries. I was directing my statement to the small craft batteries and my experience they are fine for a short life. I seem to hear a certain percentage of bad new ones too. So if your symptom you are experiencing seems to still point to the new battery, have it tested. If it doesn't test good, Walmart will make good on it with another new battery.

I would just take it to Walmart, they have the ability to load test it, it will save you a trip. You're going to have to ask to have it load tested because if you don't they'll just give you a new one.

I had ZERO success with putting walmart batteries in my skis, they would never hold a charge for long nad constantly needed charged. Drove me nuts for 3 years. I have gone to sealed gel pack batteries as well. Much more powerful than walmart ski batteries. If you just bought it, just take it back and get your money back.

Sealed GEL batteries are the way to go !! But..,,., your gonna Pay for them , more expensive then a cheapy walmart one

walmart Neverstart battery I think $59. Sealed gel battery from Advanced 335 CCA (actually measured at 560 CCA) $80-$95. I never got even a full season from a walmart battery wi/out having to recharge. Kept 2 of them on a tender all last winter and still ended up replacing them this spring.
