Programming a dash

I understand that when the dash is replaced (specifically in a 2011 gti se) it needs to be programmed to the ski. Now my Question is, can I program any dash to work on this Seadoo? I am in need of a new dash and the going rate is about $600, although there is a guy selling brand-new dashes for $300 on eBay. But these are for a Sea-Doo boats. Although I would bet that the wiring would connect and attach into the dash the same as my current one. The guy accepts returns and I am contemplating buying it.

I would be leery towards low priced electronic parts for our skis off eBay. Just my $.02

Ive thought about this. Im not spending $600 on a failed electronic part on a 2 year old boat with under 50 hrs on it

I talked to my dealer and they will charge $60 to program a dash, but said nothing they have will tell me what will work. Although the guy on ebay said he has sold tons, so Im guessing someone out there knows.

You could try to ask BRP themselves. I don't know whether the kind of information on the ski and the boat are the same but mabye the speedo and tach will work.

They won't tell me anything, they tell me I have to ask my dealer, and then when I asked my dealer they say you have to call BRP. Brp is useless

dashes of similar style can be swapped easily, including boat ones but will have to be married together using BUDS. seadoo boats are for the most part two complete and separate units(unlike the old 2 stroke boats with a single MPEM) with the exception of the dash. however, I would expect a boat dash to work fine but some information may not show up or work such as the twin engine boat ones with dual tachs.

The one I saw on ebay wont work because, I think, the unit its for has a seperate fuel gauge and it doesnt have trim. Im in the process of flipping a car, I will just have to break down and buy the correct one when it sells
