I am posting this here because I am really stuck and really need some help with this probelm. I have just replaced all my grey fuel lines and I cannot get my ski to start without starting fluid. I am really at my wits end. Any suggestions would be great.

Regards,

W. D.

Don't use starting fluid! Put a little premix in the carbs..

A few things to check:

1) Be sure the O ring in the filter under the hood is in correctly, if it is sucking air it will never work.

2) Did you change the filters in the carbs, if you did not it may still have a fuel restriction problem.

3)If you have checked all this, eliminate the selector switch, come directly from the fuel pickup to the filter.

4) I have had the screen in the bottom in the fuel pickup become clogged, prevented enough fuel from flowing. I just cut it out with a razor blade. There are two other filters in the fuel sytem.

Good Luck..

The carbs should be able to draw fuel from dry lines in about 5 seconds on a ski. If it's not... then your pump isn't working, or there is still a restriction in the lines.

You replaced the hoses... but did you clean out the fuel select valve?

Did you clean the carbs?

and from above... is the O-ring broken on the filter?

I had the same thing happened to me after I changed the fuel lines, clean the carb, and fuel selector.

I sprayed some starter fluid but it only lasted a few seconds. I even bypassed the selector and at one point to blow the fuel by mouth :).

Finally it got started. I had a second fuel filter before the carb which I took it out so that might be too restricted. I put the second fuel filter afterwards.

Try pulling the choker a few times.

Is the O ring the piece between the cap and fuel filter holder?
