Pre mix question

I recently picked up a 97 sea doo gts from a guy that said the oil injection went bad so he took the oil tank out and bypassed the oil pump... I am in the process of testing the motor down and inspecting it... my question is will it damage the motor if I leave that pre mix in the gas tank and just run it out after I get the oil injection up and running again?

I would drain any old gas no matter what in a new to me ski.

I would be suspicious if someone just "took" the oil reservoir out and switched to premix. The rotax bearings are lubricated purely by the oil. There are oil supply and return lines coming from the oil reservoir that lubricate the rotax bearings within the crankcase. You got to have a oil tank with some oil in it even if you block off the pump and switch to premix.

Yeah I found that out when I tore the engine apart and found out that the rotary valve gear on the crankshaft walked a tad bit causing the bronze gear to be chewed up and stripped it out..
