1994 seadoo sp mysterious reving promlem. while on plane at full throttle the seadoo will run great for about 3 seconds and then kinda bog down for three seconds then run great for 3 seconds then bog down again in this pattern the whole time. it sounds like i am giving full throttle and then letting out. but i have the throttle pined the whole time. does anyone know what might be causing this.

where are the RAVE valves located and what are they.

If you've noticed the Black Cap opposite the head, that's the RAVE. There're two of them. I can't explain how they work, but I know as exhaust pressure builds up in the engine these do something ........:rofl: Anyway when carbon builds up on them they stick and will not allow the proper flow of exhaust, restricting the engines performance.
Cleaning is really easy. Remove the black cap. Be careful because there's a spring underneath and will go flyin if you're not careful. Reomve the two allen bolts, and remove the shaft. Thats the valve. It'll be black, and it should be a silver color. Spray it down with brake cleaner and clean with a wire brush or a steel wool pad. Check and make sure the bellows are operating properly and are not torn. These are the rubber things holding the RAVE blade in place. Remember which direction the blade was facing and install the same direction.

94 SP should have a 587 correct? no raves.. It is most likley the carbs,fuel lines, and selector switch..

mine is doin the same thing. I've changed the grey fuel lines and rebuilt the carbs. will let you know how I make out.:cheers:

I believe that you have a fuel delivery problem. It is never going to get better until you address some issues with your ski.
1. Replace grey fuel lines. (one at a time) with black fuel lines from your local auto parts dealer.
2. Pull the fuel baffle and clean the bottom screen. (if applicable)
3. Remove the fuel selector valve and either clean it really good, replace it, or bypass it.
4. Clean the inline fuel filter or replace it with an inline filter that can be purchased at your local lawnmower dealer.
5. Pull the carb off and carefully disassemble it thoroughly clean it, especially the internal filter, the jets and all passages using carb cleaner. Reassemble it carefully and set the HSA and LSA back to the factory settings.
6. Take it to the lake and ride it like you stole it. :cheers:

Thanks for the compliment. I found that ski in an abandoned chicken barn covered with about an inch of dust for $600, including the galvanized trailer. Brought it home and spent about a month rebuilding her. I have a couple of small things left to do, but it runs great (knock on wood) I have about 3 more hours left for the break in period. I had it at WOT for about 15 seconds last week. If I had hair, it would have been pulled straight back.
