Power for Bilge Pump

Hi Everyone
I am installing a bilge pump in my 2012 GTI130.
The bilge pump will be activated by a solid state water sensing switch. I would only like the switch and pump to have power when the ski is running.
Can anyone help with the best location to pull the power from?

Thanks
Chris

why?
so if you forget your bungs or water leaks in, and ski is moored or not runnig. the ski sinks to the motor or worse! bilge pumps run a direct power to the battery with fuse for auto mode for a reason.....

A rule 500 senses for water every 20 seconds. if you have this type of pump and leave the battery in then YES it will run down the battery.

OEM uses the running power only to run the ski, the dealer said my wiring was bad so they hooked it to power and the battery was totaled when I picked it up. I now D/C the battery all the time.

I would wire it directly off the battery (through a fuse), and install an inline spst switch and turn the switch on only when the ski is in the water.
