Good morning everyone! I’ve just purchased a 2005 Seadoo GTI RFI….purchased it with the seller stating the ski won’t turn over, it just clicks. So I already had a few ideas of what’s going on with it. Figured, either the starter solenoid, starter, seized jet pump and/ or seized piston/s/. Checked the battery prior to buying, checked in at 12-12.3 volts. Brought it home, took the battery out and stuck it on the charger. Battery is fairly new and holds its charge. Checked the solenoid and it is also good. Tried manually turning the PTO drive, nothing, So, I pulled the jet pump this morning…and the impeller looks great and spins very freely and no binding felt. (May replace the wear ring since it’s off). Tried manually turning the driveshaft and nothing! So I’m now thinking the top end will need rebuilding. My question is… am I missing anything else that could cause the driveshaft to not turn manually? This machine is fuel injected and oil injected. Haven’t checked the oil pump yet. Figured I’d see what the consensus is. And I apologize if this has already been discussed.

That’s what I figured! Thanks! I believe for this one, I will pull it. My last one I rebuilt, I did the top end while it was in the ski….royal pain in the ass!
