port side steering throttle

had the boat out last week and found that when i turned the wheel to initiate throttle to port, nothing happened. Starboard was nonproblem . Made for an interesting docking but used the opposite throttle lever to compensate. is this common or an easy fix. what would be procedure to fix?

open front compartment over helm you will see cables for steering assist.
Tighten slack on Port side cable and should be all good then after.
