I boosted the battery while in the ski to start mode while I was hitting the start button. Nothing same thing. I am going to change the starter as that is the only thing left now that is electrical that has not been changed. Im so clueless on this bike! I have rebuilt 4 or 5 of these skis gtx xp etc... All have had some issues but I have never been stumped like this. Yamaha kawasaki polaris etc did it right on the computer and ignition easy to diagnose and figure out. Seadoo just makes me shake my head at some of there engineering but there is some of it that I do give the thumbs up on.

I assume you've checked the grounds to make sure they're secure and corrosion free, along with the connectors on the harness? You might also want to pull back the spark plug boots and look for corrosion if you haven't already. Sure sounds like a loose or corroded connection somewhere to me. Is there exhaust smoke coming out the pipe when you're turning it over with the plugs in?

I'm not really sure, but a bad dess post wouldn't cause this would it?

Ok... sunday which is my day for wrenching and I start off with both plugs out of cylinders grounded each on the engine. Go to crank it up both plugs nice blue flash great spark. You can crank after and there is nothing. Stop try to hit the button cranks over and no spark. Disconnect key and plug back in and hit the button nice blue flash then nothing! Verified the flywheel and its were it should be. I just dont understand that you can have fire and then it just goes away to nothing.

May seem strange, but I had this problem, your safety kill switch is going bad, I had one the would work and then stop working, I finally decided to change out the post
Problem when away

I'm new to jet ski's and have been reading on this Post/issue for a while now. There is Very good information on here. You guy's are great!! Please keep us posted on the outcome, as it's driving me crazy just listen to your problem. I was a 2 stroke dirt bike guy, but now I'm in a new world!!!I just bought a super clean 1993 XP that runs great!! I tested her out in freezing cold water last weekend. BURRRR!!!

I lost interest in the ski. I have worked on a bunch. I never did replace dess post. But pretty much everything electronic!!!! So sold it for 750.00 kick myself in the ass because the engine was good and got another XP with a bad engine 2 weeks later. (Building it now)
