so i went out the other day and the volt light came on twice! once when i first started my boat, and it went off after a few restarts! and the second time about 20 min later when i got to my destination as soon as i went to idle! i ate luch and started the boat about an hour later and it never came back on!

now the only thing i did different was put a second battery in with a 1 2 or both switch in! and i think its hooked up right! i followed the directions! but the light only came on when i had the switch on both! once i shut it off and started it only on bat 1 the light was off!!! any ideas??? im hoping this isnt going to be a major prob! i know there was a second power wire and i kept that where it was! and that was on the hot side of bat 1 terminal post! thats the only thing i wasnt sure about! does any one think that the charging system cant do both batts??? and if so, what do you think i should do??? :bigear:

The system can charge both. I would make sure that both batteries have a good charge first, then... start the boat, and bring the RPM's up to 5000. The get a volt meeter, and check the voltage at the battery. You should see 13.5 to 14.5 volts.

If it's low, your regulator is going bad.

ill try it out... the regulator,,,,, is that the little black box on the stock air box?

I'm not 100% sure where yours is located. (sorry) But, from the parts expolsion... I'm going to assume it's bolted to the air box somewhere.
