Please help!!! Seadoo rxdi idle problem

I just purchased a new ski, 2001 RXDI, and the original owner had replaced the pistons and cylinders. I had purchased the ski, and the ski now has an idle problem right after the start up. The original owner suggested that the cylinder base gasket could be the issue. Is this the possible issue, or could there be other problems causing this problem. I appreciate the help!

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Yes an air leak in the intake system can cause a high idle and low power, it will cause the engine to run lean, and possibly over heat.

Since your SeaDoo is a 2 stroke not a 4 you really need to re-list this one the 2 stroke forum, when you do be more specific, what problem are you having with the idle speed, too high, too low, on the trailer, in the water? Also what is the idle speed.

I will re-post, and thank you. The idle problem occurs right after start on the trailer, not in the water.

If it idles O.K. in the water, that's all that really matters, I would forget it.
