its the black with red stripe wire, that your disconnecting, at the butt connector. If it starts, then you'll need to pull the choke to kill it, cuz you bypassed everythiing. The kill key wont even work.

If it fires up, then you'll need a new mpem.

Ok after taking the black w/red strip wire off it started up and sounded good for about a minute then back to the same one mis and then die routine. after it died i checked for spark and nothing on the mag side, then i checked the pto side and at first nothing then all of the sudden it started fireing shocked the piss out of me and fired up. Still think its the MPEM? If so i am going to order one tonight so i can have it here by friday. thanks again for all the help.

Ok stator is off and looks terrible, all the pickups are corroded over and the flywheel itself is rusty and pitted. I installed a good but used stator, and polished up the flywheel, I will have it back toghether thursday, and we will see.

Case closed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have had enough, I went to the dealer and traded it off for a brand new one............. Not the stator ended up being the problem, I dont know which part because i just replaced the entire stator, but it fired right up and sounds good, a little bit smokey, but i think i will change my oil, im useing premix, and that should help a little. maybe go with a little leaner mix we will see. thanks again for everyones help. I am taking this thing out afterall for my anniversary getaway, thanks again.

thanks again to everyone who helped, we rode it for hours saturday, and it ran great and was suprisingly fast, the only problem is the trim is broke and it seems to be flopping around, now on to the next problem. thanks again.
