please help !! 95 XP AND A 97 SP

I have a 95 xp , the problem i have is when i go to take off it acts like it's running on 1 cyl. I got to let off and hit it again over and over till decides to go then it runs great till i stop then do it again ..i think it's a plug breaking down ...
I also have a 97 sp it surges and will not take full throttle .if i hold the choke about half it will .. Thought it was the fuel filter ,checked it it was clean .. Thanks for any help or ideas !

95... new plugs, clean the carbs.

I will do that !! Thank you !! Was'nt sure where to start. Do not have a manual but should'nt be to bad i guess..
