Okay, so long story but the lower piston ring that came with my kit is no more... yeah dont ask. I however did have a ring off another piston I could use. Now here is the kicker. The ring off the other piston is gapped for a piston .50 mm smaller. So when installed in the new motor the gap is way bigger than what it should be.

is this a deal killer if I cant find a replacement ring by this weekend ?

thanks

1) DO NOT reuse old rings. There is a reason you were removing them to start with.

2) YOU CAN NOT use a ring from the wrong size piston.

3) YOU CAN NOT use a ring from a different manufacture. (ie, you can't use an OEM ring on a Wiseco piston)

So... I'm assuming you cracked the ring, trying to put it on. Everyone does it eventually... even if you are careful. So... call the company who made the new pistons... and get a new ring. Don't put that engine back together half-ass'ed... otherwise you will be doing a rebuild again in short order.
