Hey guys,

I have a 2007 Seadoo GTi 155hp. I recently got the wear ring replaced because it was a mess. This did improve my pick-up A LOT! But yesterday being the 2nd time ive been out with the new wear ring, my pick up is back to being terrible again. When i give it full throttle from idle it just hits the rev limiter for about 7 or 8 seconds before it decides to plane.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Could be a damaged impeller, did you do the wear ring yourself? If so how did the impeller look?

Could also be the carbon seal, how many hours are on the ski?

I got a dealer to fit the wear ring, and my impeller was pretty terrible. Do you think a solas impeller instead of the standard seadoo one would make a difference?

The ski has done 85 hours.

jsushchrist.....the dealer saw a shty impeller...installed a new wear ring and called it good?!

Unbelieveable...!@#$%^&*(

A new impeller and a new wear ring most likely (because the same fckd up prop tore up another ring). A bigger than oem prop ain't gonna help...it'll hurt. Can you post up pics of prop and ring?

I'll be honest that's not the worst impeller I've seen. Mine looked worse. The gap between the wear ring and impeller looks a bit excessive in that pic. Can you measure it by any chance? Or take a business card and try to fit it in between and let us know what happens?

severe cavitation like you're seeing is most likely due to carbon seal rather than impeller/wear ring.

Thats it when my jet unit was out, the new wear ring is installed in that photo and there is less than a millimetre space between the impeller and the wear ring

Ok that's about right then. While that impeller is in bad shape it shouldn't cause as much cavitation as you're describing. I'd start looking into the carbon seal.

I am sort of in a similiar situation and have just replaced the impellor and wearing. Hoping that takes care of my issue though. Don't want to have to replace the carbon seal too...
