Man I forgot how much it sucks to remove these pumps.

Also removing those studs sucked major ass

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the VTS as well. Can't really see a scenario that it wouldn't make my life easier trying to get the steering cable out....which I hear is also a PITA. Anywho, parts should be here tomorrow.

Woot! Only part that really tripped me up was feeling like there should have been grommets in between the extension and pump. Bought a set of racers sponsons while I was at it. Now just need to clean up, adjust the steering, put the water box back in, and tighten all the hose clamps I loosened up.

That's what I thought. I'll dig around and see what I have.

Any idea what they look like? Parts diagram was sort of confusing. Is it the same as the rubber o-rings on the nozzle side?

Two of them yes, the larger one looks like a top hat the the top popped out of it.

They are the o rings that go between the hull and pump on a gsx....
it's a oring with a lip

Ahhh. Hmmmm ok well no way there's something at the parts store that could replicate that. Need to see if I can chase some of those down.

Just for the record I have a 95 xp with pump extension and I have a 97 SPX without a pump extension and always wanted to put it on the SPX because I feel like the ski is better handling with extension. Way better behaved. Even reduces porpoising. Essentially it's like extending the ski by 4 inches. I always wanted to see how it did on a 787 powered ski... great job suke(again)
Hopefully you put a neoprene seal on the hull to extension side?!?!?

Easy to miss. I had no clue either. I didn't even notice until I got it together and thought hmmmm that looks a little suspect.

Got everything buttoned up for now. The VTS definitely seems to have a longer range of motion.
