Don't know what colour to get....it's driving me crazy..lol

2004 red and white speedster200....what would you suggest?? Thinking either the light or dark grey?? Would love to get red but not going to chance it with the fading problem.

Thanks,

Well you can see how dark grey looks on a red and white boat by lookin at any of my pics. The new granite color is kinda cool. First decide what texture you want because that dictates a lot.

I just installed black with red grooves. This theoretically allows me to dye the groove when it might fade out.

I really dont think there i much difference in function. It comes down to what you think looks best. I just liked the look of the molded diamond.

I really like the light grey molded diamond that I just installed on the same boat as yours. Haven't had a chance to take pic's yet, but it turned out great. I specified the smaller "HT" logo on the swim platform, rather than the larger "Hydro Turf" name. I think that looks a little better...

Decided to order the dark grey with grooved cut. Hope it looks good...!!

We ordered dark grey as well. Since it was dark gray, we also chose molded diamond rather than cut diamond. It may be a bit more durable since it is not actually cut. You may be able to order molded groove too. Just a thought on durability. HT should be able to answer that question though.

Good luck, post pics!!

I have been wanting to order some for my Utopia. The only thing is every time I see a picture of it for my model, the HT is covering the ski locker in the floor. We always use our ski locker so I cant give that up. I guess maybe I need to call them directly and see what the deal is.

 The HT is cut out for the ski locker. It is separate pieces. There is a piece that fits on the ski locker door, then other pieces that go on the floor around it. It doesnt affect the door function at all.

So we got our HydroTurf installed tonight. First night home with the boat and around 70 degrees. I have a video as I am not great with descriptions of the process.

Honestly, if you buy the pre-cut kits for your boat with the 3M backing, you are gold. Ours matched up perfect with the areas that had some texture already applied from the factory. So we had patterns already in place for placement.

My best tip is to tear some of the backing off and put under your fingers allowing you to hold onto the turf while your partner peels the rest of the backing off. This works great on the big pieces. Start wtih the small pieces and work up to the big ones. We used a rolling pin to roll out the pieces, but honestly, walking on the pieces should have worked fine as well.

Check out my video too!

Good luck!!

I've been giving a lot of thought to adding HT to my Utopia based on all the postive feedback on the forum. Like a lot of others...struggling with color and cut...

biffdotorg...thanks for posting your video...very nice! I think it has helped me decide...Dark Gray Molded Diamond...looks awesome on your boat! Nice job! It looks like that's what you went with as well RFoster130?

I did follow other advice on here and I requested color samples...Dark Gray, Gray and Deep Blue...but again, after seeing the Dark Gray Molded Diamond I think I've decided...

I've been very happy with the light grey molded diamond. I was looking for a little less contrast versus the seats than the Dark Grey would have had. The Dark Gray probably would hide dirt & stains better in the long run. Either one will be a huge improvement over trying to keep the white fiberglass cockpit floor clean.

I specified the small HT logo on the swim platform instead of the large Hydro Turf name spelled out- I think it looks better.

Good luck with your install!

Thanks for the feedback guys...I wasn't sure if the swim platform pieces came in the "kit" or not, but I would go with the HT logo rather than the Hydro-Turf on the swim platform...although I'm not sure if I'll do the platform regardless...although I'll probably like the feel and do it???

RFoster130...I'll thank you now for the write-up on the second battery install...that project is on the list now too! I don't have a killer sound system by any means, I have a decent setup, but nothing like some of the very nice systems I've seen on here...I do enjoy hangin' at the local sandbars listen to the tunes! So, it seems like something I should do...I've always kept a Jump-n-Carry on my boats in the event of a low/dead battery...but the two battery setup seems like a very good way to go.
