honestly, I looked into doing the same thing on the Riva stage II kit but desided in the end that I didn't need to remove them.

I'm not looking to race for money so after careful thought I decided that the little drag that it may add, was not worth the risk of removing them on my GTX's
Now if you race for money, then you may consider using the block off plate.
