Ok so I could get some help with my 1990 sea doo sp it would be greatly appreciated, I picked it up the other day and it was in need of a starter and I replaced it then upon trying to start it, it only runs when the starter is engaged. I’ve read a couple other forums on this but I can’t figure out what to do. I bypassed all the safety switches and still can’t get it to run. IT has really good compression, spark is strong when the starter is engaged but as soon as I let it go it quits. I checked fuses, cleaned any grounds I could find but still nothing. Does it have to be hooked up to a battery or can I just use jumper cables ?
