Only runs on reserve

Hey guys, On my spi, If i turn the gas on, then give it gas it just instantly dies, but if i put it in reserve runs perfect with no bog... Im thinkin' fuel selector needs to be cleaned correct?

I would say either that or the hose it self that drops down from the cap may have came lose in the tank.
but the selector sounds like where I would start.

Next time I go up north ill clean up the selector with carb cleaner... But i been runnin' it all summer on reserve, that wont hurt nuthin' will it?

I wouldn't think so just make sure you don't run out of fuel and get stranded.
I have never taken a tank out,
If its anything like a tank on a quad both the on tube and reserve tube run to same tank But the tube on the reserve runs lower in the tank and the regular "on" tube is shorter so that when you get to about 3/4 a gallon left it dies because the tube is now above/out of the fuel so you have to switch over to the reserve which the tube usually drops all the way to the bottom of the tank.

Im thinkin it mite be the actual tube, I did take the tank out to drain out all the old gas, i didnt realy pay atttention to anything, maybe the actual tube came looose like u said
