One side cavitating way more than the other??

Is this normal? Or is there something more I should be looking into? It is mostly my Port side engine. This pump has been off a few times because of ski rope issues, maybe something put together wrong??

cavitation is unwanted... but it's normal for one pump to give up.

I would check both pumps for air leaks, wear ring clearance, and impeller damage... but I would say it's time to change your carbon seals.

What is a carbon seal? Is that the seal that is where the drive shaft comes through the hull? How or where do I look for air leaks? And just to confirm which from what i have read on here, is it .4" or .04" for impeller to wear ring clearance? I am guessing .04?? I am 98% sure the impeller is perfect.

0.040" is the max clearance. The smaller the gap... the better you will perform.

Yes, the carbon seal is your driveshaft seal. When they start to leak, the cavitation can be so bad, the the boat/ski won't move more than 5 mph.

Finding an air leak is hard. normally, I just remove everything, and make sure it sealed as it goes back together.
