one long beep when putting lanyard on

I have a seadoo gti se 2006 4 text been running fine.launched it then nothing.put the dess key on the dess post and it came up welcome aboard showed hours fuel etc.then the hours disapear and I'm left with hr and one long beep.it won't start the fuel pump doesn't kick in I have swapped my MPEM for my mates who has the same ski and noting I put mine in his and his works fine.i put my key on his dess post and it makes the normal beeps then beeps again but won't let me start it as my key isn't programmed for his ski.his key works fine on his ski and when he puts it on mine it does the exact same thing mine does when I put mine on.one beep and nothing fuses and MPEM is all ok.
Any ideas

Hi thanks for your speedy reply.i have found all the info you sent I have tested the dess post etc.the battery went flat after starting it a few times before I launched so took battery out and charged then put back in and nothing.do you know the starting sequence on this ski or where I can test for 12v at certain places

And download the shop manual for your ski. you should find this info in it. Testing of the DESS post begins on page 247.
