We were noticing tonight while taking a ride in our boat that the left engine is quite abit louder than the right. I like the sound of quiet MUCH better (haha) I also have wondered what and why is this build up of brown burnt,.......kind of a crodid (sp??) ugly stuff, on the left muffler. Whats this?? Has anyone else ever seen that??? If so what is it from??

Any thoughts on this.......I also noticed that the price on mufflers are like crazy expensive.

You might want to check the exhaust pipes clamps are in place and that there aren't any holes in them also leaking water into the hull of the boat. Holes can be re welded up cheaply and clamps can be changed out inexpensively also.

Jmonk take pictures of this brown stuff on your pipe so that we can see...
Sounds like rust or corrosion, like Karl said pipes are easy to get welded..
