One engine Hesitating on takeoff on 1998 sportster... PLEASE HELP????

Hello everybody, I have a hesitation issue on takeoff on my 1998 sportster. I punch it and both tachs go right to 7k. Then after about 1-2 seconds one motor will bog down to about 2500-3000 rpm's for about 2-3 seconds then take back off to 7k. Top end is fine once this happens. Changed plugs and had carbs cleaned. Still happening. Seems like fuel problem but this is kind of new to me. Anybody have any suggestions or does this sound familiar? Thanks in advance for any help at all. Jeff
