THESE M*@#$^ER F!@*$#ing FLYWHEELS!!!!!!!

Just tried my new puller on the flywheel on my 587 and instead of breaking free from the shaft, the damn thing came apart around the collar (2" dia. area)!!!!!!!!!!!1

Did I just ruin it?

Is it going to spin independantly of the shaft and keyway if I tried it now?

How the FRICK do I get the thing off now?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Can you post a pic?

I think I know what you are talking about... but if you use the right flywheel puller... there is no way to break the flywheel since it threads into the center of the hub.

help Doc Honda

essentially, i broke the ring gear press fit loose, didn't pull all the way off but became loose at the threaded collar/hub. Now I'm afraid to pull on it any more. I have another on a parts motor but it too is pretty seized and doesn't want to break free. i assume these both need to come off now so i can check original for damage/reseat ring gear or replace with spare if needed. going to head to a machine shop and see if they can help..................

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

got both pulled off
original 91 finally broke free with heat and impact wrench on puller with hardened bolts used in place of cheapie thread SBT bolts with puller just before separating from center hub!

93 spare broke free somewhat easier

blasted both clean and ....... wait for it .......

both ring gear are chewed-up enough that i wouldn't put either back into service

want a new one

where do i get one?

WOE IS ME!

Sorry to hear about the issue, but I'm glad you got them off.

I'd say to look on eBay, and just ask if the gears are still good before bidding.
