I just bought a '99 GS in immaculate condition. It only has about 50-60hrs on it.

I know there has been mention about oil brands / types and I understand that authentic Bombarier oil is the best and that you should not "mix" other oil brands.

What if I have NO idea what brand / type of oil was used in this ski in the past. When it comes time for me to add oil...what do I do!?

It would be best if you continued to use what the previous owner used, but I guess that's not possible.

You need to use API-TC rated oil, my GTI has the same motor as your ski and I use Quicksilver PWC, synthetic blend, or full synthetic, both are available at Walmart. If you ask about injector oil on this forum everyone has different preferences but as long as you use the API-TC you'll be O.K.

Now for the bad news, when you change brands of oil you need to drain the tank and bleed the oil lines and while your at it change the oil filter. When I did mine all I did was drain the tank, and put a little oil in the gas, it worked O.K. but you're taking somewhat of a gamble.
