Oil Pump Removal Problem

After removing the two bolts on my oil pump on a 2003 Sea Doo (717), something is holding it in place. Videos I have seen show it being removed easily. What do I need to do to get it off?

On the 720 you can't, you have to remove that entire portion of the intake manifold as there is a big plastic gear on the back of the oil pump held on with a 10mm nut.

Curious as to why you are removing it?

Thanks, was afraid of that. Video I saw on You-Tube showed the pump unit removed easily. Looked like a flat tab on it that fit into the engine block.

Sea Doo has had persistent oil problems (I think excessive). Wanted to simplify mixing complications by going premix.

Sounds like classic inner crank seals leaking as Legacy37 said. I am sure it's not the oil pump.
