Oil pump question

Hi all,
I recently cracked a rave valve due to the cap melting. I figured the engine probably got hot. I dont see much smoke coming from my ski, like my friends. I am concernd the pump isnt working properly. I have been reading about removing the oil pump. I have made up my mind the oil pump will stay. I just want to make sure it is working the way it should. I put a new filter and 3/16" lines on it. The only way I can see oil moving is when I move the lever all the way open. There is a small air bubble in 1 line, when idoling the bubble never moves. I also have air in the new filter I cant seem to get rid of with the bleed. I have put oil in the gas to make sure the bubbles wont hurt anything. Can someone give me an idea if this sounds ok or should I try something else.

If you hold the oil valve open at idle... it should push the bubble out of the small hose. At idle... the oil doesn't pump much at all.

As far as the bubble in the filter... it needs to come out... but it will probably go up the hose, into the tank.

Last thing... I always like to add 1oz/gal oil into the main tank after an oil pump service. (for safety, and to keep oil in the engine if an air bubble needs to work through)

Thanks for the info. I have oil in the gas tank now. Im going to run it with the oil in the tank and see if the bubble comes out.
